A special surprise
After two years of marriage it seemed that we were having some difficulty getting pregnant, so in the spring of 2011 we prayerfully started looking into adoption. We checked out two different agencies and we considering moving forward with the process of adopting a sibling group. As we were coming to the close of our introductory classes with Bethanna, we found out that God had a different surprise in store for us.
I (Vicki) had been feeling a bit funny around the middle of July and out of the blue decided to take a pregnancy test. I had taken a few in the past, so I tried not to get my hopes up, but I got the shock of my life when it was positive. Tom was away at teen camp, so I waited to surprise him until he got home. We were both blown away by God's goodness and faithfulness.
Looking back on the first two and a half years of marriage, we both can see that God's timing is perfect. When we first got married there was a lot of stressful things going on in our lives and in ministry, as a result we were both emotionally tired. After our trip to Wichita, KS in January 2011 we were both refreshed and life took on a more normal look and we were healthier emotionally. Ministry also was moving in a positive direction.
Just six weeks ago we welcomed our daughter Elizabeth Rose Anthony into our family. She is a great blessing in our lives! We love watching her grow and look forward to seeing her come to know Christ and love and serve Him.
