Last week we were able to attend the Kindergarten and Fifth grade graduations at FDCS.
This was the first time that a fifth grade class graduated from FDCS in 6 years. These kids started as Kindergarteners while I was still teaching. It has been a privilege to watch them grow over the years. One boy changed from a timid Kindergartener who couldn't talk at Kindergarten Graduation, to a very outgoing young man who would often sing out and have solos in school concerts. All of the students had fond memories of FDCS and have seen how God has grown them throughout their time here.

Kindergarten graduation marked the end of an era at FDCS. Judy Patrizio, our kindergarten teacher, retired from teaching. Over the last 16 years she has taught Kindergarten and Pre-K, for the first 10 years she was a volunteer. Any student who has gone through FDCS, even if they didn't start in Kindergarten or Pre-K, knows Miss Judy. Each year at Kindergarten graduation Miss Judy shares the special attributes of each child, even those who were especially challenging. She also did her best to see that each child got the best start possible to their career as a student. Most children left her classroom able to read. Miss Judy is a one-of-a-kind teacher and she will be greatly missed!
