Blooming Relationships

Thank you so much for praying for our meeting with Alpha.  After two weeks of trying we were able to catch up with her today!

For those who are new to our blog, we met Alpha last year while we were doing a survey in our neighborhood.  The purpose of the survey was to get to know our neighbors and learn community needs.

When we met Alpha she invited us into her house.  She shared with us that she had recently moved here from Puetro Rico and welcomed prayer for her house and family.  Throughout this year we have stopped by Alpha's house a number of times and have shared food with her family through Christmas and Thanksgiving Outreaches.

Every time we see her she is excited to see us.  As we talked with her today she shared that she couldn't wait until her granddaughter comes back from Puerto Rico in a few weeks because she is looking forward to seeing her and Lizzy play together.  During our conversation Alpha enjoyed playing with Lizzy.  As we left she invited us to come again.

We are very encouraged by our growing relationship with Alpha.  Over the next year we look forward to strengthening our relationship with her and her family.  Our hope is that God would open the door for us to start a small Bible study at her house.

Praises

  • Our City: Churches that we have visited here are expressing hope that God's Kingdom will transform this city!
  • Our Neighborhood: Teen Camp went well.  James, a boy Tom is working with, had a heart that was open to the gospel and growing in Christ.
  • Our Family: We were able to visit with Alpha!
Prayer
  • Our City:  A family lost three children in an accidental house fire last week.  Please pray for comfort and emotional healing.
  • Our Neighborhood: Peace among families, as kids have been out of school for over a month many are starting to get on each others nerves and often end up fighting.
  • Our Family: Continued wisdom as we interact with the kids who visit our house, balancing love and boundaries.
