Exciting Possibilities ...Answered Prayer
God is beginning to answer our prayers for this church as we have shared the vision God is giving us ...
Elena
In December we shared about a past student of mine (Vicki's) who had been shot and killed. I also shared my hope that through this situation his family would come to know Christ's peace. Tom attended his funeral and shared with me that his mom, Elena, and two of his sisters came forward after the gospel message was shared.
Since that time Glen has been connecting with the family and we have seen Elena and his twin sister becoming more and more open with us. Last night Elena stopped by to talk to Glen while he was trimming his back yard. Through their conversation Glen shared about the church we are hoping to plant. Elena was very excited about the possibility and is looking forward to being a part of it.
Elena's family has been involved with World Impact on and off since the ministry started here in 1988. We look forward to seeing how God will use them to further His Kingdom!
Alpha
We have begun visiting Alpha every week on Tuesdays, her day off. Each time we stop by she invites us in. This week was no different. We talked about life and invited her granddaughter to homework club. We were also able to share with her about starting a Bible study that we hope will become a church. Alpha was very excited. She shared with us that due to her work schedule (third shift) she has not been able to find a church close by that she can attend. As we talked about the church we said that we want to start with a small group of committed people so that our church has a strong foundation. She agreed with us stating, "this is God's plan."
We left her house and hour and a half after we arrived overjoyed as God is beginning to confirm this church through the community members we have been building relationships with.
