Winter Blast
Yesterday Tom and Glen got back from taking five kids to Streamside Camp and Conference Center for their Winter Blast weekend. The kids enjoyed crafts, snow tubing, games, and a scavenger hunt. While there they learned how sin permeates our lives and that they need to be honest about it. They heard the Gospel presented. They also talked about the Bible messages with their cabins.
Tom was able to share Christ with a boy who had come to camp with another group. He sat next to Tom and began asking lots of questions about God and sin. Tom was able to clarify some areas where the boy was confused and then tell him about why Jesus came to earth.
Sarah (name has been changed) came to camp with Tom and Glen. We have known Sarah and her family for a long time. She lives in our neighborhood and occasionally stops by our house for a visit, usually with a few friends in tow. On the last day she came up front for prayer. She said, "I'm tired of sinning and want to ask for forgiveness." Tom and another lady prayed with her.
Now that Sarah is back in Chester we need to follow up with her decision. I (Vicki) would like to have Sarah, and her friend that came to camp with her, over to our house for dinner and Bible study after homework club on Tuesdays. Please join us in prayer that Sarah and her friend would be interested and committed to coming and that their hearts would be soft as we talk about what it means to follow Jesus.
