May Prayer Letter

Dear Friends,

We want to thank you for your partnership with us here in Chester! Your prayers and financial support are making a difference. In this letter we will be sharing with you some ways God has been answering your prayers and also invite you to partner with us in a few different ways.

In January we began meeting for church. At first Elena, who we shared about in our March letter, was our most faithful and sometimes only attendee. In February and March we began to have guys from basketball join us. They have continued to attend and some of them have invited their girlfriends to come too! Those who are coming on Sundays are expressing interest in the Gospel and want to learn more. Pray that we will be bold in sharing the Gospel with them.

Last month we shared about starting a Bible study with the basketball guys. Since March we have had an average of fourteen guys, and their girlfriends, show up on Wednesdays to go through the Bible study Christianity Explored. Continue to pray with us that the hearts of these young adults to be open to the gospel.

Since September we have been working hard to increase our team of prayer and financial supporters. We have been encouraged to see our financial support increase from thirty-five to fifty-three percent! One way that we are working to raise our support is through a community yard sale that we hold on the first Saturday of every month. Our goal is not only to help raise money for our support, but also to share Christ with our community as well as provide things they need at affordable prices, all items are priced from twenty-five cents to five dollars. One way that you can partner with us in this outreach is by donating gently used clothes, toys, and household items.

Another way that you can partner with the ministry is to sponsor Tom in World Impact’s golf marathon on July 14, 2014. Tom, a very novice golfer, but will attempt to golf up to 100 holes. Our church plant team is hoping to raise over $5,000 through the marathon which will go towards missionary support, Bible clubs, men’s Bible studies, and our church.
