God is moving...

The other day we were visiting with some friends in Chester.  During our conversation one of our friends mentioned that she had been over to the police station and the chief mentioned that Chester was ranked #2 for crime and violence.  We also talked about how the news people rarely report anything good about our city.  Our conversation continued on about the fact that there are good things happening in Chester.

That same day we saw good embodied in our friend Alpha.  Earlier in the day we had texted Alpha about finding a time to stop by her house to give her her coupon for our annual Thanksgiving Outreach.  She texted us back with the following response: "Can you give this coupon to a person I know.. not despising the blessing but he needs it.  God has given me a lot and it's time to pass it on to others. I feel as if it (the coupon) has been given to me at heart, thanks."  We were speechless after receiving this text.  God has given Alpha a big heart and we look forward to seeing how God will use her in our church.

There is much that is good in Chester and we hope that our church will be a light of God's love in this community.

As our team has been praying for this church we have continued to see community members excited about it.  While Tom was handing out last Friday, he told one of the families about the church.  The father asked, "when will you be starting? I want to bring my family."  Tom was able to share with him that we will be starting on January 5.

Without your partnership with us in prayer this church cannot be planted.  We would like you to join with us as we pray specifically for some upcoming events leading to the launch of our church plant on January 5.

  • Thanksgiving Outreach on November 23.  Pray that God's love would be evident to the families who come.
  • Christmas at Streamside on December 14.  Pray that God would make it possible for the families we are inviting to come and that they would enjoy their time together.  We are specifically inviting the people God is leading us to start our church with.
  • Christmas Eve Service on December 24.  Pray that the gospel will be clearly presented through this celebration of Christ's birth.
  • New Year's Eve party on December 31.  Pray for joyful fellowship as we celebrate the new year.

We know that because of you this church will be known for the love of God that flows through its people.
