A Beautiful Day for a Yard Sale

On Saturday we held our fourth monthly yard sale.  It was a beautiful day!  We began holding yard sales in February to give our church an opportunity know our community better and provide for their needs.  At this time the money that comes from the sales helps with our support.  Once we are fully supported the money will go towards our church.

One of my favorite parts of the sale is seeing and talking with old friends.  Debbie was part of our Highland House church plant and now is the receptionist at The Grace Dental Clinic.  As she was looking for clothes for her grandkids, we talked about her work at the Clinic.  She shared how she never expected that it would be the best job she has ever had.  She loves being able to help people get the dental work they need and seeing the smiles on their faces.

I also enjoy being able to meet people’s needs.  In April we were in short supply of girls clothes and the week before our last sale we received a large donation of them.  Many of the families who stopped by shared with us how thankful they were that we had those clothes.

One of our goals is to see those in our church serve their community.  Dawn and her mom, Elena, attend our church on Sundays.  They enjoy helping with the yard sale and being able to provide for the needs of others in the community.

We hold our sales at 1000 Booth St. on the first Sunday of every month.  For information about donating items for the sale, click here.
