Wisdom for the City from Proverbs

"Hope deferred makes a heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life" Prov. 13:12

This verse says much about the condition of hearts in the city.  For so many hope has been put off or lacking due continued negative circumstances.  In all that we do we want to help people realize the hope in fulfilling their first desire, to know Christ, and then in the dreams and passions that God has put in their hearts through the gifts He has given each person.

As we seek to help people see who God has made them to be, we will also realize more fully the amazing diversity of God's Kingdom.  As the people we work with begin to understand how God has uniquely made them to be used in his Kingdom, they will become “crowns of beauty out of ashes” and “oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.” Isaiah 61:3

“The fallow ground of the poor would yield much food, but it is swept away through injustice.”  Prov. 13:23
Unfortunately, this is a very true statement.  One of the biggest contributors to a lack of hope in the city is injustice.  Only those who know hope that comes from God and seeing His Kingdom in the midst of injustice will be able to yield lasting fruit.

Please pray that we will share the hope of Christ with those that we meet each day.
